Welcome! This week we are celebrating community through a quick-write and poetry challenge. Set the timer, roll a dice, pick the words and put pen to page, then get inspired by Japanese poetry and write a Haiku poem. Remember don’t overthink it! Make mistakes, get lost in the moment and get stuck in.
Pick one word from each of the lists in the video. If you have one, use a dice to help you choose. Start a timer for 3 minutes and write a short story or motivating message that incorporates the three words chosen. Good luck!
Join performance poet and producer Nasima in this mini challenge and write a Haiku poem, a short form of traditional Japanese poetry. Haiku poems are made up of 3 short lines and each line has a specific number of beats per word (syllables). Watch the video and give it a go.
