Journeys Festival: Fleeing Into The Unknown

Journeys Festival: Travelling Library

The Travelling Library is an inspiring collection of books installed in vintage suitcases, exploring the experiences of those who are forced to flee their homes and seek sanctuary in other countries. Flick through award winning novels, beautifully illustrated children’s books, short stories and poems.

North City Library Fun Palace

Fun Palaces put culture at the heart of community and community at the heart of culture. North City Library Fun Palace is a gloriously creative day packed with all sorts of artsy, crafty and sciencey stuff! Plus, music, free snacks and refreshments. Try your hand at Arabic calligraphy with Abdula and Rethink/Rebuild, make your own den with the Royal Exchange Theatre, stamp yourself a badge and create a 3D Doodle sculpture. Led by local people sharing their passions, skills and creativity, this event is a highlight of the autumn calendar, so come and have a go!

Both Sides Now: Music Production For Girls With Brighter Sound

An exciting opportunity for young aspiring female music creators to be part of Both Sides Now, a groundbreaking initiative for women in music led by charity Brighter Sound. During this three-day project, you’ll work alongside established female musicians from the North West to develop your music production skills and prepare a performance piece, which will be showcased at an evening event on Tuesday 29 Oct.
